Product Description

BioGuard® Eco Sunscreen and Clarifier is the industry’s first chlorine stabiliser that does NOT use standard isocyanurates or cyanuric acid.  It is a 100% efficient alternative to traditional stabilisers, avoiding all the problems of CYA saturated water and unnecessary chlorine over dosage to compensate. Compatible with all types of treatments.

Shake well before each use.  When using for the first time, add 200ml per 10,000L of pool water.  Thereafter, add 100ml per 10,000L of pool water each week, OR 400ml per 10,000L of pool water each month.  Always add product to the deep end of the pool.  Run pump for at least 1 hour after application to disperse product.

Dosage rates should be adjusted to the bather load of the pool.  IF frequent backwashing is required, or pool is in an environment that is high in contamination, dosage rate can be doubled for peak performance.

Stabiliser in Cyanuric Acid form is available in BioGuard liquid and granular forms.

 

Features

Water balance is important as it ensures that the mineral content of the water is in an appropriate state to protect the pool surface and equipment and make water more comfortable to swim in. Water balance is affected by a wide range of variables – the quality of the source water, what chemicals are added to the water, the exposure of the pool to weather conditions and so on. Pool balancers impact chemical factors such as total alkalinity and pH and calcium. They also ensure that the sanitiser work correctly, the water is pleasant to swim in, and they prevent scaling and corrosion of the pool surface and equipment.

Specifications

  • UV light from the sun is what causes decomposition or ‘photolysis’ of existing chlorine in a pool, removing about 50% of the existing chlorine in 35 minutes. Eco Sunscreen and Clarifier absorbs and alters the wavelength of UV light from the sun. This protects chlorine from photolysis. The half-life of chlorine is increased by a factor of 4.
  • Unlike traditional chlorine stabilisers such as cyanuric acid, Eco Sunscreen and Clarifier does not reduce oxidation capacity. This means it has no effect on ORP or other probe technology.
  • Eco Sunscreen and Clarifier is a catalytic oxidiser that works by using the energy of the sun, or UV light, to catalyse the formation of free radicals to disinfect pool water. The radicals work just like chlorine to remove pollutants, but they do not form combined chlorine. Eco Sunscreen and Clarifier is not consumed in the process, it just makes what happens naturally, much more efficient.
    Chloramine concentration is reduced by up to 50% and turbidity (cloudiness) by up to 40%, providing crystal clear and healthy water.
  • The demand for chlorine is reduced by an average of 50% compared to a non-stabilised pool.
  • In saltwater pools, Eco Sunscreen and Clarifier increases the life of the electrolysis cells.
